Nicknames
Two weeks ago (6/24/05) I attended a family reunion, and I was struck by the many cute nicknames my cousins had for their kids. I thought it would be fun to have a record of nicknames my wife and I have used for our daughter, Zoe, in her first year of life:
Z
zee-zee
zo
zo-zo
ZZT (I don't know what my daughter has to do with the band ZZ Top, but the name emerged anyways)
ZUB
zubbie
wild-child
wild
(she often gets this name when she's roving around on the bed, crawling over her mom and me, before she goes to sleep; she gets a very wild look in her eyes)
smiley
smiley-girl
monkey (like me, she was born in the year of the monkey)
monkey-love
monkey love Zoe
monkey butt
goofy girl
goofy
cutie-pie
cutie-patootie
bear child (her middle name Ursula is based on the fact that she looked liked a little bear cub when she was born)
squirmarella
If I can think of more, I'll add them later . . . .
